At MURI, we’ve always believed that drinks can do more than accompany a meal. So we turned convention on its head, and set out to prove that drinks can take centre stage at the dinner table. Our our small team created an off-menu experience of drinks and food pairings.
A journey through our imagination
Over three evenings, our small team invited guests into the tasting room for an off-menu experience of food and drink pairings designed to blur the line between glass and plate. Each pairing told its own story, and together they formed a journey through our imagination.
We poured a brand-new vermouth alongside a house-made fermented tonic. We experimented with a sparkling bottle fat-washed with wild rose butter. Carbonic raspberry cocktails added a burst of energy, while one of our boldest creations - a blend made from onions, carrots, and peas - was paired with a dish of the very same ingredients. Every sip and bite was designed to connect, surprise, and delight.
Cooking without a kitchen
There was one twist: we didn’t have a proper kitchen. Instead, we set up a yakitori grill outside the tasting room and it worked a dream.
