Our greatest motivation at MURI is to make drinks that you find delicious, not to fit into a category or style. This limited edition series follows that premise.

We have created blends that showcase the beautiful complexity of koji fermentation whilst retaining the true sense of MURI's adventure and creativity.

Koji Rice Series Bottle

AMAZAKE

Taking our inspiration from one of our favorite drinks - sake - we grow koji on steamed rice before mixing with water and fermenting the liquid with a cultivated yeast. The result is an earthy yet floral liquid with a luxurious mouthfeel. 

SMOKED LAVENDER

The blend is finished with a smoked lavender kefir. The lactic flavors of the kefir work beautifully with the rice, and we perfume this with the heady notes of lavender which we have first smoked over beechwood.

MAHLEB

This small cherry pit (Prunus mahaleb) is traditionally used in Middle Eastern recipes and pairs beautifully with the creamy amazake. It provides a warming undertone to the blend.
